Scaling, custom resm and aspect ratios in nVidia surround
So I figure that at some point 4k60hz monitors are going to be available and affordable for use on high end surround configs, what with Seiki's 39 inch 4k30hz unit sometimes dropping to $500 on Amazon on occassion. Such surround configurations are of course going to to be absolute torture on GPUs ...

So basically, the screen area
So basically, the screen area "lost" to each overlap is equivalent to 15% of one projector? IE with 3 projectors with a horizantal resolution of 1280, you'd lose 192 pixels to each overlap for a total horizontal resolution of 3456?

Does HUD centering work with unusual configurations?
I realize the answer to this is going to vary a lot by game, but I'm wondering if anyone can give some general guidelines.
Every time I've heard of games centering the HUD, it's for a 3x1 landscape setup. I'm curious as to whether this can be done setups that use, say 5x1p or a 2x1 landscape ...

Re: $60 PC Games Descend Upon the States
Mass Effect 3 is going to be $60 too. Combine that with $30-40 in DLC and you are looking at up to $100 USD for the latest Bioware games. I'll wait on the all-inclusive ultimate editions on sale. And if that doesn't happen, I may not buy it at all.

What's the viewing distance and how much space does it take up? I had always thought that triple projector configurations would have to be much, much bigger than that.

Re: gtx 580 3 way sli multi monitor benchmarks?
Hi everyone. I am new to the forums here, but I can tell you that 3 GTX 580's in 3 way SLI works great. I have had zero problems and I get near perfect scaling across all three cards. I am using 3 HP LP3065's in Surround, bezel corrected to 8100x1600. If anyone wants me to run a particular ...

Re: Gaming Room Circular Projection Build Log
4. TV and Blu-ray looks great. I can set the aspect ratio to 16:9 for tv and 2.35:1 or wider for wide format movies. 2 1024x768 projectors = 2048x768, which is very close to standard 2.35:1 Blu-ray content at 1920x800. TV and Blu-ray content is better suited for a 2 projector flat wall setup ...

Re: Crossfire work with different 5000 series cards? 3+1?
Yeah, GPUs in SLI and Crossfire don't share RAM as far as I know. Basically, one GPU renders one frame, then the other renders the next frame and so on... and each GPU requires it's own memory to do it. I know if you can run Crossfire between a 1GB card and a 2GB one, but if you can it would ...

Re: Curved Monitors - They are back?
They can add whatever they want to it and even hold off till whatever cable/port design they think will be the magic one for them. Problem is, all of that is totally irrelevant until they get that price point down to consumer levels. Until then, they're just flushing money down the toilet by not ...

Re: Curved Monitors - They are back?
I looked into doing rear projection onto glass about a year ago, but the real key IMO is that you need LED projectors to make that really feasible. I game too much to be buying projector bulbs 2 or 3 times a year x3 or so screens.

Re: Curved Monitors - They are back?
Curved monitors are sweet, but for the most part the lackluster resolution and extreme price a deal breakers. If you want a rather wide display with a decent resolution you can go with a Cinema Display. (http://www.consumer.philips.com/c/cinema-21-9/30849/cat/gb/) is 2560x1080. Though in the advent ...

Hi, I did exactly what you are planning to do recently. I had a PLP setup with a Dell 3007 and upgraded by adding two Dell 3008. I also switched from SoftTH to Eyefinity with the 5970. The new setup is impressive when everthing works, but it is still hit and miss for me. Games like Call of Duty ...

Does the 2GB on the 5970 not help the buffer problem you are mentioning as the 5870 is only 1GB?
No it does not. The 5970 cannot combine the 1gb from each core. The most memory you have available is 1gb.

Re: PLP via SoftTH on a 5870
I'm curious as to whether SoftTH on a 5870 is faster than SoftTH on other setups... seems to me like it should be since you have three outputs on the card and don't have to go across the PCI-E bus, right?
