Re: What happened to Eyefinity 6?
Yep, it seems like a step back to only supporting up to five when there was the six option. Of course, with dp1.2, more than six could be supported but until dp1.2 hubs and/or monitors come out then it's stuck at five.

Re: powercolor hd6870 e6 card
Looks good.
I'm contemplating a multi-output setup for flights sims and have the 6990 currently at the top of my list but since FSX doesn't make use of crossfire I'm thinking the second GPU of a 6990 would be wasted so an e6 6970 may be better.

Re: WSGF Review of the AMD Radeon HD 6990
Great review!
Why do the majority of the other sites review such a board but then bench nothing that makes use of the multiple outputs?
With regards the CPU and OC'ing, I was thinking that perhaps the reason that the differences between the e6 card and this is not so wide is possibly ...

Re: My personal Feelings About nVidia Surround.
Agree with all.
nVidia's solution was a stepback from what was already being done with a single card and a TH2Go (fogetting the bandwith limitation of TH2Go) and seems a bitch of a botch. They could have gone down the road of implementing TH2Go style hardware on board together with fine control ...

The post on the NTHUSIM site is a bit lengthy. Give me a bit of time to digest the information before replying. I'll probably whip up a reply sometime this weekend though.
Thanks, it was a bit of a ramble... I'm at a bit of a cross-roads in my design plans, any advice/suggestions/comments etc ...

Too many options...
I've been thinking of and planning my next upgrade for a while now. Didn't get round to it last year so held off for the 6000 series and now for Sandybridge etc.
Now, my plan all along has been to go with a 5/6 output card so that I can run:-
3 x 1920x1200 24" directly (was planning on U2410 ...

Re: TH2GO digital very disappointed !
As said, that's not a fault of the TH2Go.
You can run good fps on one screen but not when running over three screens. That's a simple performance issue, your machine can't cope with the larger output.
The TH2Go is not a magic box, it 'simply' splits the input over three outputs. You can't ...

Re: First Radeon 6990 Sighting
Am I the only one who thinks we'll only be able to use one HUB per card? I can see this if it's not merely something like the TH2go (or that DP HUB that accell made).
The diagrams show up to 3 1920x1200 per DP1.2 port on the two dp port models.

Re: First Radeon 6990 Sighting
Trouble is, this, while having excellent potential, is still a step back in its out of the box design since it'll 'only' do five as compared to the six of an Eyefinity 6 card. To get more than five requires hubs which are not going to be cheap.
So anyone who want six from the start is looking ...

Re: First Radeon 6990 Sighting
Little disappointed at the configuration but suppose it's understandable. They could have gone with 6 mini DP though and just thrown in an adaptor as usual for DL DVI.
I assume the four dp are 1.2 standard? Trouble is, unless they also bring out a dp hub then this is a step back from the E6 ...

Re: Multi monitor set up ( indipendent ) -Need advice -
Still not Eyefinity.
You want to run multiple instances of the same game, each in a window on its own screen.
The only thing Eyefinity related is that you are just setting up independent displays.
I'd be surprised if you could run more than one instance of the same game on the same PC at ...

Re: 6970 eyefinity 5 or 6
Could still be a six connector card - mini dp1.2 makes most sense and fits on a physical level, lot neater.
Multiple monitors off the same connector driver support could be left until we actually have dp1.2 monitors/hubs
Would be a step back if they didn't do an Eyefinity 6 edition in the ...

I hope so, I want a 6 output replacement with the future potential for more via the hubs - shame they couldn't release their own dp 1.2 hubs alongside.
