If you have an Nvidia graphic card and are connecting to your monitor through DVI it will pillarbox it for you.

Considering Surround gaming, would my PC be able to handle?

Since I work for an electronics store, I can get a massive discount through ATi on an x1900xtx card, but my current mobo doesn't support SLI :-(.

This is going to be way more expensive then I initially thought, it's going to cost over $1,100 and it just keeps rising now :-( :-(.

Considering Surround gaming, would my PC be able to handle?

Damn, because I'm not buying a high end card now, I'm holding out for the Dx10 cards.

I can handle 1024x768 max everything full AA and AF on Fear, Prey, HL2 and such without lagging all that bad. Fear gets me the lowest frame-rates, but it's just ridiculously demanding.

Considering Surround gaming, would my PC be able to handle?

Laptop or Desktop

I'm saying desktop because as far as I know desktops give you more bang for your buck.. a 4k laptop won't be as good as a 4k desktop..

EDIT: But, if you want to take your computer to a friends house and back a lot you need to go laptop. Desktops are much too fragile for all that movement..

Finally Battlefield 2 in Widescreen with correct FOV ?

Personally, I don't think widescreen is anywhere NEAR as big of an advantage as surround sound or even a pair of good headphones.

You're totally right.
