I'm trying to run the Steam version at 1920x1200 at 60Hz have edited edited blam.sav within my Profile just as described in the OP, inserting 80 07 B0 04 as the hex values.
However on launching the game my monitor (Dell 2407WFP) displays a 'can't display this resolution' message.
