What game(s) do you think it mimics?

It's definitely on my ones to watch. The only disappointment so far is the plot seems dreadful - but it's game, so that's to be expected.

I liked the demo of Rallisport Challenge but that's even older than some other suggestions. Sadly the second one only stayed on the Xbox.

Not sure about wide screen options either, never got the full game...

Excellent game, just something which needs clearing up in the first post - it supports up to 6 players, not 4 in the full version.
