I used the command line switches "-aspect 1.60 -width 1680 -height 1050" but to no avail. Though screenshots show up at 1680x1050 the actual viewing area remains at whatever is selected in the options screen (which happened to be 1280x960 in my case) and only mission text shows outside that area. I know Freespace 1 tops out at 640x480 and Freespace 2 at 1024x768, but are there any hacks to get them running at a widescreen resolution, preferably 1680x1050?

And what about the somewhat goofy and very fun racer 1nsane? Does it have widescreen support?
