hey I haven't really tested this since I won't have the chance to give the demo a go till tomorrow evening, but try this:

look for preyconfig.cfg in the /base folder and make sure that the following lines match for your desired resolution:

seta r_customHeight "1200"
seta r_customWidth ...

For ROE, you need to edit the DoomConfig.cfg in C:Program FilesDoom 3d3xp

the new resolution will not show up on the selection menue for resolutions in the game will it

Nope, the custom res didn't show up for me. And if you have ROE, you'll need to edit the cfg for both doom3 and ROE.
