the lack of WS support in games just shows how keen games developers are to make money without pleasing the consumer, the poor bastards that have to play the thing. from what i have heard BF2 is still horribly buggy and full of crappy glitches, until its sorted i wont get it, and until we get some ...

Has anyone tried to run the Dell monitor on Analog instead of Digital to see if we get other resolutions to appear? Just a thought. I can't get my analog port to work for some reason.

Yes, +fullscreen 0 is a windowed mode. That's how most of the people found the initial error about the res side being all freaky.

+fullscreen has nothing to do with the WS, it only sets the game to run in Windowed or Full Screen view. You can put +widescreen in there, but not putting it has the same effect... basically doesn't do anything.

I appologize for posting a solution too late, I haven't read page 6 before posting my post above. Well now you know to wait a day or two before reinstalling windows :)

Ok here's my problem - I just bought a 2405fpw and got it up and running today. I had a 21" Viewsonic running before that and I had BF2 running with zero problems on it.
I install the new monitor and I can't even start BF2 up. I continuously get kicked back to the desktop. So I tried running ...

Hey guys a little observation to feel better. Do the following:
1st Force the res into 1680x1050 (for 2005 monitors), load the game and take a screenshot (PrtScr on keyboard), exit
2nd Force the res into normal res like 1280x1024 would do, load the game and take a screenshot at exactly ...

BlindRat, according to planetbattlefield.com forums, this will get you banned from EA's Master server list. So do that at your own risk.

I have been playing with the FOV setting and I don't see ANY difference, changing from 0.8 to 1.4. The map window (top right) is still stretch and all the models look like little midgets running around. Are you sure you guys getting the FOV working right? Could someone please post a screenie?

That's $648 US, that's very high for that monitor. I'd wait for a sale. Dell has them all the time. They just ended one 2 days ago which dropped the price of it to $420. But...do whatever you like :)

I am running that same monitor on 6800 card. So far I had no luck getting it to work. I did, however, had BF1942 running at 1680x1050
PS: You might want to wait for a deal from dell. I got two of my monitors for $384 shipped.
Or I just saw this deal:
20% on Dell 2405FPW (24â€Â

Shpankey, good find, but doesn't seem to work for me. Do you use a default profile or did you create a new one? I created a new one which created my profile in My Documents folder. I tried copying VideoDefault.con file into there and changing the values, but still no luck.
