Thanks for the reply. I would like to formally request that DICE consider widescreen support in a future patch (or expansion pack). There are thousands of widescreen LCD monitor owners here in the U.S., many of whom are requesting it for Battlefield 2.

The game only supports 4:3, so you can only render to file in other aspect ratios. Sorry.

I have ALREADY CONTACTED THEM to ask about setting FOV width in gameplay. I will post their reply here.

From the Battlefield Recorder demo.cmd file. If widescreen can be enable in the demo capture, I can only imagine it CAN BE DONE in gameplay. Keep trying!

I hope DICE/EA can see past the morons posting "widescreen gives you an unfair advantage" flames, and seriously consider a real widescreen support fix in a future ...

I've recently been researching the Battlefield Recorder feature, and came across a feature to RECORD WIDESCREEN DEMOS in the game engine. I can only conclude that BF2 CAN SUPPORT widescreen (via a hack).

All I can say is-- I've been waiting for 20 years (yes, I've been playing games that long) for a game like BF2, and to find that it does NOT natively support WS (unlike HL2 which does) makes very VERY disappointed with the DICE/EA development decision makers.
