I ran into that too. When you first install it makes the exe a read only file. Right click on the executable, properties, uncheck the read-only box.

It didn't seem to take any time to undo anything when aborting the patch, so I'm assuming that my version is half-patched now, but seems to work ...

I don't think its going to work on mine. I've got a weird Taiwan English version. First it says its in use. Then I patch it and run it again. This time it works but I get an "application error." I've backed out and redid all of the updates. Now it finds the EXE but it will not let me select patch or ...
