Because I know you can't make custom resolutions through the doomconfig.cfg file anymore with the 1.2 patch, you have to use the autoexec.cfg file.
Really? Well, it works for me.
It didn't work the first time I launched it but then set the "seta r_mode "-1"" and that saved the settings with ...

dOOM3 r.o.e. cannot get any rez pst 640x480
Open up your DoomConfig.cfg found in the Doom3d3xp folder.
Make sure seta r_mode is set to "-1" not "3". The line should look like this:
seta r_mode "-1"
With your SLI setup I'd definitely try to run it at the LCD's native res!
So set it like this:
seta r_customHeight "1050 ...

Hey, thanks a lot, TP1125!
I had almost given up checking on this post!
I got the program and had it running @ 1280 X 800 very quick! This is my widescreen gaming res of choice. Games are playable even though I don't get the insane FPS I'd like to.
For those still interested in running ...

Hmhh... I have a Dell 2005FPW as well.
I don't see your 1280 X 960 res when I launch the game's Setup, though!
The only available res I get are: 640 X 480; 800 X 600; 1024 X 768 (which I am using); 1152 X 864.
I've got a GeForce 6800 and have added the 1280 X 800 res in the driver's ...

Has anybody found a way to play this in widescreen res?
I looked in the game.ini file but there are no values for screen size to edit. :(
I don't think this is going to be an easy one. Maybe one of Wogg's hacks could do the trick.
Please let me know when someone has found a solution ...

Solution: Star Wars: Republic Commando
Now that's more like it! :)
I was making changes to the wrong .ini file.
Went to the Star Wars Republic Commando DemoGameDataSave folder and changed that .ini file and it all worked out!
This looks/plays a lot better at 1280 x 800.
Thanks!

Widescreen Halo (1280 X 800) with annoying FOV!!!
Yep, enabled it... even changed the * key value and it still doesn't work.
Don't know what else to do. A portion of the lower (and probably upper) quarter of the screen gets cut off.

Widescreen Halo (1280 X 800) with annoying FOV!!!
I had already looked at that thread.
Racer's S FOV Hack didn't work for me! I have the latest version installed and kept the patch program open like instructed. Still, no changes were possible when pressing the + and - keys.
Any other suggestions?

Widescreen Halo (1280 X 800) with annoying FOV!!!
Hi!
I've added 1280 x 800 as a custom res in my display properties and was able to select that in Halo PC.
The res is fine but the FOV is really messed up! When switching to this res, you can easily notice how a significant portion of the gun gets cut off. About one quarter of the gun (the ...
