Just played the demo, Widescreen is in!
Oh, and it's awesome.
edit: Just to clarify it allows true widescreen resolutions, and has a stretchy option! <3

DOOM 3 is Awesome !
I can't know for sure, but I have a feeling the mod community is going to explode with Doom 3 mods. Personally I'm most looking forward to interesting multiplayer scenarios that make creative use of the shadows and such. I can't wait to see some Xenomorphs running around in the Doom 3 engine. Just ...

DOOM 3 is Awesome !
Oh, didn't Carmack cap the fps of doom 3 to 65 fps? I read this somewhere but I think it was to prevent people from doing certain trick jumps etc by having a certain framrate.
I think I read it somewhere at quake3world.com...
I've definitely seen it go higher than that.

Attach flashlight to your gun in Doom 3
I played around with the equivalent mod for the pistol (this one's just the machinegun), and had some fun with a friend in multiplayer. I'd be reluctant to use it in single player though, because the darkness provides so much tension and anxiety, I wouldn't want to give that up.
Besides, the ...

DOOM 3 is Awesome !
Everyone should keep in mind that if your computer is decent, the game will look awesome. You don't to be able to do the highest settings and resolutions to get the full experience. The visual impact of the game comes from the textures and lighting, which comes across quite well at all settings ...

Hit the flashlight button (F) again to switch back to the weapon you had equipped before.

Looking at those screenshots it doesn't look like the FOV worked. Maybe it should be set higher? Look at the archway on the catwalk or the dude standing there. Totally stretched. (If it doesn't bother you, that's cool... but I get really perturbed by distortion :))

SPIDERMAN 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, GTA III was actually kind of a pig on the PC. Vice City was OK, but still didn't take advantage of the increased RAM of most PCs. It still forgets the state of entities in the world if you just move a couple of blocks away. Grr! Too many people and cars appearing and disappearing everywhere.

I just started playing this game, and I'm seriously impressed. The possibilities are astounding! My character name is Vitzh Rutherford.
