Windows 10: individual display scaling?

Post by imusrt »

Apparently Windows 10 allows you to scale each monitor individually in your multi-monitor setup. In theory this means you could stick any monitors together & make their pixels line up perfectly.

If it works well, matching monitors in both PLP & mixed LLL would be much easier. A good reason to get Windows 10.

Here's an article talking about Windows 10 individual display scaling:

Questions
- Has anyone tried it on poorly matched monitors?
- Do your changes stick in games (fullscreen & borderless)?
- Is image decent or ugly blurry?
- Are there limitations? E.g. can't scale downward?
- Are there cases that look better than others? E.g. scaling down may look perfect, while scaling up may look bad.

I have tested on Windows 8.1, & it's useless. It's blurry going up, couldn't force size down, & it only could be used on center monitor. Did not try gaming, it's a mess. I may be missing something, but think Windows 10 will do it better.

EDIT 12/2015: Windows 10 scaler is now tested, results are here:
