I hope everyone had a great holiday season, and got plenty of new games and hardware to play. I for one loaded up on the GOG sales. After a bit of a break, we're back with the first of our newsletters for the new year.

Pathfinder MMO Kickstarter

Indie dev Goblinworks is wrapping up a Kickstarter for the Pathfinder MMO. The game is based on the Pathfinder rule set and game world, created by Paizo. Pathfinder is largely considered to be "D&D 3.75e", and is a great system. The MMO will be using the Unity 3D Engine, which should bode well for Eyefinity and Surround gamers. Our previous experience with this engine shows it offers excellent support for multi-monitor. Get all the details here in our news article, or go straight to their Kickstarter Page. They are really close to their funding goal, so jump over and help if you can.

WSGF on the True PC Gaming Podcast

Our friends at truepcgaming.com have a regular podcast. I was honored to be the guest on their 25th episode. You can check it out here on their website, or check out the article on the WSGF.

CES 2013

CES game and went in a flash. While not a strong gaming expo, there was a bit of gaming hardware showcased. The big thing at this year's event was 4k displays. While most were TVs, a couple of PC-centric displays were showcased. Also garnering a lot attention was the Oculus Rift (of which the WSGF is a Kickstarter backer). Additionally, Razer showcased the Razer Edge. This is the production version of the Project Fiona prototype from CES 2012. Check out all of our coverage in our first and second news articles.

New Games in the WSGF Database

Mechwarrior Online

MWO gets double gold certifications for excellent widescreen and multi-monitor support. It also has excellent 21:9 support.

Hawken

Hawken doesn't fare as well. It has Hor+ gameplay, but the cockpit and HUD are broken.

Doom 3: BFG Edition

The BFG Edition of Doom 3 fixes almost all of the flaws in the original game. Eyefinity/Surround support is *MUCH* improved. The only flaw keeping it from double gold certifications is a non-centered HUD.

Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends

Overall good support in the latest Test Drive title. It offers perfect widescreen support, and excellent Eyefinity/Surround support. A few UI oddities keep it from a gold medal.
