Hello WSGF gamers,

I have a Eyefinity setup for about 4 years (first a 6950 and now a 7950 icm i5 3570 - 8gb). My screen res. is 3x1 5760x1080.
I'm still able to play most games, i don't care about settings like Ultra, high or 16x aa. But nowdays I notice that the graphic card is becoming a problem. So i'm thinking about an upgrade (I don´t want to graphical cards in my system). But here's the catch. My budget is about 350 euro I want to spend.

I was thinking about the Nvidia Gtx 970, but I notice that the 970 has an advantage over the 290 or 390 in screen resolutions like 1920x1080, but most benshmark are not testing resolution higher then 2560x1440. I noticed that the performance difference between the 290/390 and the 970 dissapeared, the GTX970 is in most games still a bit faster but what about a my resolution (5760x1080'?

Is the GTX970 still faster in most games?
I´m also unknown with Nvidia widescreen-surround, is this the same as with Eyefinity?

I hope you guys can help me out!

Thank you!

The 970 and 390 are very similar, performance and price wise.

The 390 has more than twice as much VRAM, which is important for higher resolutions, such as 5760x1080, so you'll definitely want the 390 over the 970. I actually recently built my computer and returned my 970 to pick up a 390 when it was released.

the GTX 970 only has 3.5gb VRAM not 4gb, you can read a lot about that on the internet, for Eyefinity where you need every last bit of VRAM this is might become a problem!
So you have the choice between a 980 or a 390/290
The 390 is newer and has more VRAM, so i would spend the little $$$ it cost more :)

Nvidia Surround is mostly Similar to AMD Eyefinity. Even has such a feature as Bezel toggle. Which shows whats behind the bezel when you press a buton.
