So I have a GTX970 running 4 screens. Three RT270's that operate in surround, and a P2450H that is mounted above the middle screen. I am soon getting a GTX1080, but I want it dedicated to the three 27's. Could I get something like a GT610 to power the 24" screen? Obviously not run in SLI, but just in one of the PCIe slots so I'm not using onboard gfx, and not taking from the GTX1080? Can't seem to find a definite answer anywhere.

Many thanks

Token.

Of course, you can have multiple graphics cards and as many screens as you have outputs. That's the essence of multi-monitor and it's still going strong ! I'm using 2 Titans, no SLI, one for Surround and one for Ultrawide. I rarely use them all at once but it's definitely an option.

Thanks for the reply. Have you used different cards before? Is there a problem when installing 2 different drivers or anything?

With a 1080 and a 610 you won't even need two drivers. The nv driver package supports all GeForce GPUs from the 400 series and up.

Why not just enable your iGPU for the 4th monitor?
