Hey so I just got darksiders on the Steam deal and I start the game,
the graphics look like ****, very plain, no detail whatsoever, and I'm only facing 3 enemies and the game runs at 40 fps ??? What gives?

Resolutions are broken for 5x1P even hex editing the configuration file like suggested in another thread.

Huh? I'm not sure what you are trying to say :nudgenudge

I did the hexedit for 5760 x 1080 and it looks like the resolution works fine but performance is shit, I should be getting 150 fps with the level of graphics this game has, instead all I get is 30 - 40

5x1-P is five monitors in one row oriented in portrait configuration, but he may have not read your entire post.

To your point about performance, this game is a console port so low performance from a mediocre looking game on PC is to be expected.

I am running 2 HD6970 in CFX and also experiencing performance issues in Darksiders.
Set to 5760*1080 pixels, performance often dips down in outside areas.

IIRC the problem is that this game does not support any kind of multi-gpu-setup (neither CFX nor SLI) which is why AMD and NV have disabled support via drivers / profiles by default.

Perhaps you could try forcing multi-gpu (AFR-mode) via drivers or a config-tool like RadeonPro / NV Inspector to see if this improves the framerates.

It looks like a problem with multiGPU rigs, I run it on single 6970 in EyeFinity (6048x1080 BC) and framerate is perfect

What hex edit value are you using for 6048x1080? That is exactly what I want to run it at off of my 5870.

It might have to do with multi-GPU.

I don't recall whether or not I ran with a single 5870 or 5870 xfire, but my performance was very good. Unfortunately you can't just turn off SLI to run with 1 gpu in surround...

Try running on a single monitor and see if SLI lowers performance or not.

What I'm trying to say is neither 6000x1920 or 3000x800 work using the hex edit trick. At least it works somewhat for 3x1L. 5x1P resolutions auto reset to default resolution.
