long story short luxor 3 hasn't worked on Samsung displays on AMD drivers since feb 2011
if you have a Samsung display & AMD drivers (hdtv or monitor) if you could test the game if it works for you
post here if it does or doesn't

or if you have another brand of display & have NVidia or whatever pc config

I have tested 5 Samsung models P2770HD,2333HD,un50es6100 & 2 others,ALL don't work
(only Samsung displays look affected,Ive tested dell,hp,gateway & sony displays ALL work good)
(a Vizio hdtv was reported by AMD to produce the error message sometimes)

http://download.cnet.com/Luxor-3/3000-2 ... 62914.html

let me know if you get the error

assertion failure video system cpp 199 all builds
expression was num vidmodes
luxor 3 emergency shutdown the application will now close

post full pc specs

appreciate it

already contacted AMD,MJ,Samsung & steam many times they haven't found a permanent solution

no go with the applied files the game still doesn't work
they don't do anything, game doesn't launch but the errors I mentioned don't display

may I ask what those files are & what they do

the game generates a system error log(I presume) every time the fails to launch
*in the games directory

"Build194-2013812-142726-6348-7528" an MDMP file

No problem at all to run the Cnet version out of the box. Running an MSI ATI HD7950 and Samsung Syncmaster 3x P2450H displays. Both fullscreen and windowed mode.
The Cnet version is INFESTED with malware stuff. "DealPly", "Lucky Leap".

ty for testing the game,I see your displays are just hd monitors
I assume latest drivers?

sry if the cnet dl has malware(I have the steam version)

use this instead http://www.mumbojumbo.com/game/LUXOR3/1755

its my game,I don't think the game uses flash
(to test other models/brands to see what is the problem)

the problem is AMDs drivers,I already confirmed that

here is video proof

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDpV3cwFCtQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzTXCul2mjE

the game works if I launch the game with another monitor then move the game window to a Samsung display
*it wont let me go fullscreen on it tho

to the best of my knowledge it looks like AMDs drivers don't support luxor 3 and/or modern Samsung display's edid/firmware at launch

the game works good after its been launched ONLY because I launched the game with a GATEWAY display

Changed my comment to seem a little bit nicer. Long days man..

But ye, they're just 1920x1080p @60hz monitors. Using Catalyst 13.4

It looks like its just the AMDs drivers NOT supporting luxor 3 and/or modern Samsung display's edid/firmware at launch, because
once in the game, the game works well
*game Doesn't crash or anything,so once youre playing the game it runs perfectly

The game DOES NOT work when 2 displays are duplicated
(Samsung and gateway)since both displays are 1,they are basically cloned
*luxor 3 DOESN'T launch no matter which display is primary

the game works if I LAUNCH it with a NON SAMSUNG display (windowed)( 1 display connected )
DISCONNECT the NON SAMSUNG display ,AND connect a Samsung display AGAIN still ( 1 display connected )
the game runs windowed perfectly and if I go fullscreen it STILL works *no sound tho since I used vga on NON SAMSUNG display

the game ALSO works if I LAUNCH it with a NON SAMSUNG display (FULLSCREEN)( 1 display connected )
DISCONNECT the NON SAMSUNG display ,AND connect a Samsung display still ( 1 display connected )
the game runs FULLSCREEN perfectly *no sound tho since I used vga on NON SAMSUNG display

having no sound is normal most likely since the game was launched with just a vga connection

the game ALSO works if I have 2 displays CONNECTED (Samsung & NON SAMSUNG display)*EXTENDED
and LAUNCH it with the NON SAMSUNG display(gateway)(vga connected )(windowed & fullscreen)
*the game works perfectly showing the desktop on the Samsung & running luxor 3 on the NON SAMSUNG display
it ports the game's sound through the Samsung display & PICTURE on the NON SAMSUNG display

AMD catalyst 13.9 STILL doesn't work, this issue is under a supervisor at AMD since 3/13/2013
AMD has been aware of this issue since 2/20/2011

http://www.bbb.org/sanjose/business-rev ... -ca-207074

MUMBO JUMBO,the games developer did/would not UPDATE the game, they blame AMD for changing something in their drivers making luxor 3 not work

http://www.bbb.org/dallas/business-revi ... x-90028107

STEAM,the place where I bought the game doesn't give a S3@4,they don't help, wont forward the issue to anyone(even AMD,they are partners) totally ignores 3 (to date)BBB complaints, like many other steam customers
http://www.bbb.org/western-washington/b ... a-27030704

*also bans me from their forums because I post facts about their sH@$!y customer service & BBB report
(makes up things I posted about and calls it "spam, trolling, etc" to cover up the real reason I was banned

Samsung has escalated this outstanding issue to their tier II department, research & development team, software team, and product specialist team. They stated they have not been contacted by AMD
that they call AMD and no one answers "it just rings and rings and rings" they won't answer or return our calls. If somebody does finally answer they don't answer their questions completely and that they get transferred to another department which no one answers

they have the direct phone number to the AMD supervisor that this issue is under
(this is not a regular AMD issue, its under an AMD supervisor) which he states "he cannot break it down"

the AMD supervisor said "we work closely with Samsung"
Samsung confirmed "we do work with AMD and many companies in case there are issues between us"

obviously not close enough, this issue dates back to Feb of 2011

Samsung also states they have seen the exact same error message and that they need the "mac addresses" to AMDs video cards to provide a solution via monitor driver or firmware, but AMD has/or
won't provide them with that or any necessary information or details on this issue

http://www.bbb.org/new-jersey/business- ... nj-1004901

Gateway has been contacted I told them everything to date,I requested them to forward this issue to AMD and/or work with AMD to provide a official driver fix or OEM driver fix to my GATEWAY SX2370-UR10P they said "no we don't do that,we don't forward anything to anyone,we won't get in middle" they said to post in their forums so that maybe gateway would be in contact with AMD

Try this trick on Steam Luxor 3 demo version:
• When you get an error message, do not click OK, and do not close this window.
