Read Full Detailed Report - Overwatch

Overwatch is an upcoming multiplayer first-person shooter in development by Blizzard Entertainment. It will feature squad-based combat with two opposing teams of six players each. Players choose one of several hero characters, each with their own unique abilities and role classes.

The four character roles include:
- Offense-oriented characters with high speed and attack but low defense.
- Defense-oriented characters meant to form choke points for enemies.
- Support characters that provide buffs and debuffs for their allies and enemies respectively, such as healing or speed alterations.
- Tank characters that have a large amount of armor and hit points to withstand enemy attacks.

Players can switch between characters in-game following deaths, which is encouraged by the game's overall design.

Unveiled at BlizzCon 2014, the game emphasizes cooperative gameplay using a cast of various "heroes", each with their own abilities and roles within a team. The game entered closed beta in North America and Europe on October 27, 2015, with plans to bring the beta to Asia at a later date. (Source: Wikipedia)

Not sure why it says: Ultra-Widescreen Grade: Unsupported...

UWS is supported but it's pillarboxed and limited to 16:9. I haven't tested it myself but added a link to a reddit comment which says so. This would also be logical if you look at MM screenshot. Also if you create screenshots with the built-in method you'll see that for 4:3 it'll render with 1600x1000 instead of 1600x1200 and for MM its just 2133x1200 instead of 5760x1200. So for UWS 3440x1440 it'll render at 2560x1440.

Cheers.

Grading is calculated based on what has been specified for the behavior and issue severity options. Multi-monitor grading for pillarbox seems to be bugged at the moment.

Is this the only FPS that actually doesn't support 21:9? The last few I've played (I don't play much) all supported 21:9 with an FoV option.

And it's a pure multiplayer game that you have to buy to play? For $40?

For this reason alone, I'm not bothering with the game at all. FPS are critically affected by FoV, and being restricted like this feels absolutely horrible.

Starcraft 2 I could deal with.. just; but this? Nope. Lost sales I can say.

Blizzard needs to wake up. They haven't supported 21:9 since its inception and more and more people are switching to 21:9 displays as time progresses. Most monitor manufacturers all have 21:9 displays now. They're hardly uncommon anymore.

Wow, really? And here I thought the downtime and changes to the game would've brought 21:9 support to it.

Really, really sad. I had fun with the game when I tried to play it (as Mercy, because aiming was awful), but it was only for the weekend and I'd in no way play it for a long period of time like that. Too negatively affected.

Any day now they'll patch it... right? :( Sad. It's a fun game to play too.

Oh look, Overwatch finally has 21:9 support.

Except, it's Vert- when running in 21:9. Because, y'know, we all wanted our view zoomed in to the point of inducing nausea and claustrophobia for some people (like myself).

Meanwhile, I've been trying to get Epic (and other UE4 developed games) to switch their rendering to Hor+, because all UE4 based games are unplayable due to rendering Vert-.

This now confirms all our suspicions that they are still arguing 21:9 monitors are cheating. And again, they added support to Heroes of the Storm, completely contradicting themselves.

Next thing you know they're going to remove the FoV slider and cap the framerate to 60.

How is this gold rated?

It should be bronze at best with the ridiculous 21:9 gimping.
