Read Full Detailed Report - A Story About My Uncle

A Story About My Uncle is a first-person platform game telling the story of a boy who searches for his lost uncle. The uncle is an inventor and presumably he has gone missing in one of unexplored mysterious worlds. So the boy goes after him to find the adventure of his lifetime -- with mystically floating islands and talking frog-people.

The boy wears a costume that allows him to do a charged jump for reaching high places, fall from any height without taking any damage (unless it's water or bottomless pit, of course), and grapple to surfaces so that he can, with later upgrades, travel through considerable distances without touching the ground. The grapple mechanism of the costume starts with only one use (recharged automatically when the boy lands on ground), but can be upgraded to three uses. As the game progresses, new abilities are unlocked, like rocket boots and ability to recharge the grappling mechanism mid-air. There's no combat; the game is focused on acrobatic tricks and exploration.

'Sprint/jump/grapple/grapple/don't fall to your death' combos for about 5 hours. Completely linear and a tad repetitive; short enough that it's not really a problem, but too short to have a chance to get any better. If you like to fly around caves shooting special symbols whilst listening to a bedtime story, this is the game for you.
