Wow, very tempting. My local Circuit City is offering this game for only thirteen dollars (plus tax). Is there any special knowledge needed to use Woggs patcher?

Both of these games are supported by UniWS.

I know this game is VERY old... but my girlfriend has taken interest in various old series and we've been playing them together...

We started the POP serie recently.. we are playing on a DLP 56inch TV using component cables...

I applied the patch with uniws to get custom resolution and inputed the 1280x720 16x9 resolution we use with every game...

HOWEVER, as stated in the game list, it is "VERT -"... which by itself doesnt sound THAT bad... but check out the 2 attached screenshot... resized to 800x600 and 800x450 *so do not tell me they have the same Xresolution... i resampled them manually* (down from 1024x768 and 1280x720 respectively) you see it is indeed VERT-... but problem is the interface is also missing!!!

Thats pretty bad having no idea of our health at all! :)

((sorry for the photobucket link, my ftp died...))

Have a nice day! :)

Every time something that came out barely five years ago is called "very old," Ernest Borgnine dies a little. Especially when it's the fourth game in a series that started almost 20 years ago.

hahaha... yeah you're right! :)

what i actually meant was reviving an old post that must have been buried pages and pages ago! People usually do not like old thread being revived... but i tought the screenshot provided didnt acurately show the VERT- problem that occurs when playing the game since the screenshot was taken from the intro before the game even started! :)

edit : i just edited my original pictures so they both have the same Y resolution... so its now 600x450 and 800x450 for 4x3 and 16x9 respectively...

"Useful thread necromancy" is indeed pretty rare :)
You don't have to resize anything by the way, the forum does it automatically upon posting (not previewing).

Thanks for the info, this game's been sitting on my shelf for 3 years, I now know I don't have to wait for my 22" monitors to reinstall it !

The whole "new" PoP series desperately calls for Detailed Reports. I'm sure you and your girlfriend would have lots of fun taking more screenies and writing the complete DR for Sands of Time together ;)

we since completed all 3 games of the series... and after messing around for a long while i can say the only one that is actually PLAYABLE in widescreen is the 3rd one... which supports it natively... the fix does add the resolution for the 2 other... but as seen in my screenshots, the interface gets cropped and the game is pretty hard to play as a result...
