Nice. Didn't know it was out in non-german languages.
If memory serves me well, the main menu's backdrop is Hor+, too so it'll end up in my MMMM collection at some point...

Yep, the menu is hor, plus all the object scale correctly. :)

Probably because every regional version is handled by a different publisher. According to the news section of http://www.venetica-game.com/ the german version was released one year ago (4 Sep 2009, along with patch 1.01).

1920x1200, 2560x1440 and 2560x1600 are natively supported in the demo.

As pointed out by Ergopandilus, you can adjust the (vertical) FOV in settings-user.ini:

This is basically a "zoom out" setting.
