Widescreen Grade: B
Multi-monitor Grade: B

Read Full Detailed Report - Napoleon: Total War

Napoleon: Total War combines turn-based army movement and empire management with real-time battles on land and sea. It features probably the most french accent-ridden dialogs ever recorded for a game.

Here's a Windows tip that might come in handy - this macro will give you the right directory in either version of Windows,
%appdata%The Creative AssemblyNapoleonscripts
(I learned this recently, actually)

The new, optional and very murky picture-in-picture camera for "battle events" appears to use the same AR as the game and be Hor+, which would be ok - but its position is linked to both the pixel count and AR: the higher/wider the res, the further to the right it pops up.

Doesn't seem too bad. Should we consider this a blemish that only affects TH (and 2560x1600) ? If we do that, the game can still be certified.

FMVs are anamorphic 16:9, but they also play full screen in non-16:9 widescreen, and thus are squished in 16:10 and 15:9.

Whoops. It can't be certified after all. But the above question remains open.

Grade: B
Potential grade: B+

Minor omissions:
Just the above question.

CCE: 99.5%

Sounds good to me.
This pop-up camera is also a temporary button that lets you jump to the shown area, but you can always jump to a hot spot by double-clicking the relevant unit icon in the army panel, or clicking on the minimap. It's only used in land battles, too. So it's not a critical element of gameplay at all - and does not even look cool due to the very poor, non-adjustable quality.

B+ then, with stretched FMVs the sole blemish.
