Red Faction is a first-person shooter video game that was released in 2001 by THQ and Volition. The game was inspired by several works of contemporary Science Fiction, most notably the movie Total Recall among others.

Red Faction takes place on Mars in the late 21st century. The player controls a miner named Parker who helps lead a rebellion against the Ultor Corporation. The premiere feature of the game is its "Geo-Mod" technology, short for "geometry modification", which provided destructible environments, allowing the player to destroy certain sections of the scenery in the game. For example, instead of opening a door, a player could blast through the rock surrounding the door.

Pure Faction is a community made patch for the PC game Red Faction. It adds functionality such as automatic map downloads, support for modern hardware, bug fixes, new maps, updated level editor, server creation assistance, first person spectate, a new user friendly ingame interface and many other features ( http://purefaction.org/ ) .

New Solution:

Download the Pure Faction 3.0d Installer and the Addon (which make it finally HOR+)

Put your desi. Res. in the PFLauncher.exe (if not available then just type like 3440x1440 and save it)

The command "r_togglewidefov 0" didn't worked for me, I simply used "R_ToggleWideFOV" as found using help command.... eyefinity awesomeness
