Read Full Detailed Report - S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat is the sequel to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, a first-person shooter computer game by Ukrainian developer GSC Game World. Call of Pripyat is the third game in the survival FPS S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.

The game takes place soon after the events of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. After Strelok disables the Brain Scorcher, many Stalkers rush to the center of the Zone, hoping to find artifacts and treasure. The military decides this is the perfect time to take control of the Zone, and launch "Operation Fairway," a large scale helicopter recon mission intended to scout the area by air. Unfortunately, the mission goes horribly wrong, and all five STINGRAY helicopters crash. The player, Degtyarev, is sent into the Zone to investigate the crash sites.

There's still more I need to do--so forgive me :( I just wanted to get it thrown up else I would have never have done it, lol.

Also, this is my first report--anything else I'm forgetting that I can test?

Could you re-arrange your screenshots so that similar shots are grouped together? It's easier to compare different ARs that way.

Also, does this game have any multiplayer mode?

Grade is dependent on completion of the DR, especially multiplayer mode and resolution support, but the highest potential grade is a B+ thanks to the stretched scope.

'1024x1028' should be renamed to 1280x1024.
This is a 5:4 resolution by the way, and you can see it has a slightly higher vertical FOV than 16:9 and 16:10 (e.g you can see more of the building's top floor windows). Just saying FYI - you don't have to re-take new screenshots in 'real' 4:3 ;)

Vertical FOV looks perfectly identical to me. In the "gameplay" shot, right above the leftmost door, you can see three and a half windows in all aspect ratios.

Indeed. The minimap and lack of sleep played tricks on me. One more big fat FAIL on my account.

I'll still go get them--and are you both trying to say it's vert-?
I'm not really too "pro" on this whole widescreen thing, I just know what feels comfy and what doesn't :|

Also there is a MP segment, but I'm pretty sure that it hasn't changed from the SP--I do know that the FoV hack I have requires all clients to run the hack as well though, else files don't match up.

Anyways, I'll get around to making my changes tomorrow, and I'll go snag some 4:3 shots and reorganize this later and post up that hack as well.

No, it's hor +, plain and simple.

No need for the 4:3 shots. Just a simple re-org of the existing ones will do.

Calculated grade: C
Potential grade: B+

Major outstanding DR omissions:
Is 1280x768 supported?

Minor outstanding DR omissions:
Is surround supported?
Are 1280x800, 1440x900, and 1920x1080 supported?
Need cut-scene comparison shots

CCE: 87%

Yeah the scope looks awful at 5040x1050. :x
