So basically under our current standards this is hands down the game that supports widescreen the best?

It has both Anamorphic AND optional Hor+, thats like Double Certified.

Yeah, I would just redo the report with widescreen off, then mention somewhere toward the end that for a more cinematic feel you can turn on "widescreen" mode and see black bars.

Since fullscreen mode is both an 'official' addition and an optional setting, I (alongside cranky) think it's more accurate to describe the game's default widescreen support, and document the screen change using 'Widescreen Off'. Some users may prefer black bars to a narrower FOV, some may not; the DR is here to describe the game as accurately as possible, not to judge which setting's better.

Yeah, but if one method means certification and the other means a B, I would fully document the certification method if it receives that score, then mention the sub-par method.

It doesn't matter a whole lot though really, it was just a suggestion.

Sure but in this case, FEAR2 already had a gold medal ;) The new option offers better support for TripleHead and letterboxing-haters; it does not make the default support a sub-par method. Thanks for the suggestion though !

As explained at the beginning of the DR, TH users should install the latest patch and turn the "widescreen" option off.

Yes I read topic from the beginning. Problem is that even when I Installed 1.03 patch there is still no "widescreen onoff" line in advanced options :(

Changelog v1.02:
-Implemented a toggle for switching between widescreen (16:9) and full screen (4:3) in the Options|Performance|Advanced Settings menu
You don't have that ?
I can't find a detailed changelog for v1.3, but maybe the option was renamed since v1.2 - it seems many users found it confusing that "widescreen" actually means "black bars" in 16:10...
