It looks like they actually maintain a constant 75 degrees FOV regardless of the widescreen or full screen. In addition, if you look in the movies folder:
2K GamesBioShockContentBinkMovies
They actually have separate 4:3 and widescreen versions of a couple of game videos.

And with this hack replacing the native solution, the game gets a worse grade.

Calculated grade: D
Potential grade: D+

Major unresolved issues:
None

Minor unresolved issues:
Are 1280x720, 1280x768, 1280x800, 1440x900, and 1920x1200 supported with this hack?
How are the FMVs and ingame cut-scenes affected when the hack is used?

Summary of widescreen-related flaws:

All resolutions are supported, you just slide the sliders based on your aspect ratio. 16:9, 16:10, 5:4, etc, resolution doesn't matter.
FMV doesn't matter either, they have a few of them done in both 16:9 and 4:3 in the movie folder, so they are aware of that. Others just letterbox on BOTH top/bottom and left/right, and this is regardless of if you use the hack. If you want to test this out, you can enable/disable the hack on the fly with the / and * keys, you can see it won't affect the video.

And yeah, it DOES affect the in-game cut scenes, but since those are also subject to the whack 2k zoom/crop widescreen crap, the hack merely restores them to what they SHOULD look like.

For the resolutions, we need someone to test them with the hack enabled, just to be completely sure that they all work.

For the FMVs and cut-scenes, we need comparison screenshots, with the hack enabled on the widescreen shots.

Also, I have one question. If the FMVs come in 4:3 versions and 16:9 versions, then why is Gabbo's 4:3 FMV shot letterboxed?

I have tested most of them with the hack. The hack doesn't have any effect on the available resolutions. Just the FOV of the aspect ratios.

The FMV movies that I have seen so far are unaffected by the hack as the hack only effects the rendered in-game elements. Any "in-game" cut-scenes will exhibit the exact same screen method as the gameplay (HOR+).

Don't know what to say about the different movies. I personally have only seen 16:9 formatted movies that adjust accordingly.

Testing the resolutions is enough to bump the grade up to 99%. But I still need to see cut-scene comparison screenshots before I can call the coverage 100%.

When you say that DX10 effects are broken, are you referring to the hack not working in DX10? Because technically, the DX10 effects are fine albeit very subtle and not worth the price of admission... but I digress...

Yes, that's what I mean.

Paddywak Edit ... when I split the non info stuff I missed this ... sorry ...
Racer_S reportedly fixed DX10 support in his hack. The lack of DX10 support can be removed from the list of flaws.

Post subject:  Point Prometheus

I'm sure this hack works great in the demo, but in a later level (Point Prometheus and on 11, 12 & 13) I think it might break.

There is a visual effect used in these later levels, but I don't want to spoil the plot for anyone.

What happens with this hack on those levels?
