The menus looks a little pixelated/stretched but this only affects the Europe map experience when in Battle for Europe but not during actual gaming. Menus and “Battle for Europeâ€

Thanks for the report! My notes:

==Screen change==

Since this is a 2D game, when comparing screenshots, the vertical resolutions of the two shots need to be as close as possible. Your screenshots are both hor + and vert +. Try comparing 1024x768 and 1280x800 instead.

==Supported resolutions==

What about 1920x1080 and 1920x1200? Were you able to test these? If your monitor doesn't support them, you should put them in the "not tested" list.

==Singleplayer anomalies==

Can you provide comparison screenshots of the stretched Europe map?

==Aspect ratio support==

If you couldn't test any 16:9 resolutions, then you need to say that you were unable to complete this section due to your inability to test 16:9. And if you could test a 16:9 resolution, then you need to show comparison screenshots of 16:10 and 16:9.

==Cut-scenes==

Again, try using 1024x768 and 1680x1050.

== Grading ==

==Singleplayer anomalies==

We still need comparison shots. A 1024x768 shot and a 1280x800 shot, resized like before, would work

==Aspect ratio support==

It would be useful to compare a 16:9 shot and a 16:10 shot where the horizontal resolutions are the same. I'll download the demo and see if I can get some. And in the meantime, I'll see if I can get your untested resolutions to work.

I've added the battle for europe pictures, so, is there any way i can take the 16:9, 16:10 pictures? :P. 1680x1050 is my max resolution and 1280x720 doesn't work :(

Thanks. I've tested the demo, and here's what I've found.

==Supported resolutions==

1280x720, 1920x1080, and 1920x1200 work.

==Aspect ratio support==

Here's a comparison of 1280x720 and 1280x800:

1280x720

1280x800

==Cut-scenes==

Here's one flaw you missed. The intro FMV is letterboxed. Unfortunately, when it runs, it forces your display into 1024x768 mode, which means it will appear to be windowboxed (black bars on all four sides) on a widescreen monitor.

== Grading ==

Calculated grade: B

Major unresolved issues: None
Minor unresolved issues: None

Summary of widescreen-related flaws:
Stretched Europe map
Intro FMV is non-anamorphic widescreen.

Cranky's coverage estimate: 100%

BTW, what video card do you have? Depending on your video card, it might be possible for you to add 1280x720 to your available resolutions.

Plot or narrative. The intro FMV isn't related to the story, but it is related to the narrative in that it helps establish the setting (Napoleonic-era Europe) and tone (militaristic) of the game. Basically, I'm saying that you shouldn't count things like company logo videos.

well, i hope i weren't to much of a troublemaker

Of course not. Your contributions are appreciated, and now we have one more game on the MGL with a detailed report.

I got a 226BW and a Leadtek 7800GT..

Here's a tutorial on adding custom resolutions to nVidia cards:

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/6998]I've already tried that, that's how i managed to try some extra resolutions but 1280x720 just won't work for me. It cuts of some from the right and when i started cossack 2 it crashed me back to the desktop, that is of none interest though, since my comp cant use it properly, it weren't the games fault. :x
