==Screen change==

I recommend removing the text that doesn't directly discuss how the screen changes during general gameplay. All you really need here is the words "This game is vert -" and your three gameplay screenshots.

==Supported resolutions=

Please list all of the widescreen resolutions you tested and confirmed to work. This is important - it's easy to assume you did them all, and then realize you forgot one when you actually list them.

==Singleplayer anomalies==

I'm pretty sure there are some in this game. IIRC, there are a bunch of 2D screens, such as the map screen, some shops where you can buy weapons (late in the campaign or in Free Ride mode), and the Carcyclopedia. I'd start with the map screen. If it stretches, post some screenshots here as evidence that 2D screens stretch.

==Aspect ratio support==

16:10 and 16:9 are both supported, as your screenshots show.

==Cut-scenes==

I seem to recall that Bink videos were only used in the game for company logos, and never used to advance the plot or demonstrate anything related to the game. Is this the case? If so, then you don't need to worry about

Ingame-rendered cut-scenes are 16:9 with the aspect ratio fixed, resulting in letterboxing.

This is worded confusingly. Just say "Ingame-rendered cut-scenes are anamorphic" and then show your screenshots. The word "anamorphic" completely describes what's going on here.

==Grading==

Calculated grade: C
Potential grade: C+

Major unresolved issues:
None

Minor unresolved issues:
(dependent on your answers to my questions)

Summary of widescreen-related flaws:
Vert-
Stretched HUD

Cranky's coverage estimate: 96%

Sorry , had some confusion over some parts.

Updated accordingly, and have now seen i've missed a couple of resolutions. Adding them and testing soon.

this is a czech game

Czech developers can not do widescreen game. They have limited funds, they hope for success of their games, but usually they fall short. Mafia was an exception. There are few more games that saw the shelves in USA... but it is not easy to fight against modern games, when you can not even licence any current game engine. Well, they have got beef, we've got brain, and sometimes we can use it :idea:

hi all!
i found how to start mafia in Hor+ mode. there is two methods:
First:
1. You need MafiaDataXTractor 1.1, BScriptView 6.0 (maybe 5.0)
2. Extract MISSION data with MafiaDataXTractor
3. Edit each "scene2.bin" file in all folders in "Mafia/Missions" with BSV6.0 - add to "GameInitEnd" script this string "CAMERA_SETFOV 90" (try 80-100).
4. Remember! Each file in each mission folders.
5. Save Results

Method 2 (easier :-)
Download mod "Optimized Mafia" from mafiascene.com (registration required). this mod increase view distance. and also something mades with FOV :)

there few screenshots after patching with this mod (i have samsung 226bw 1680x1050)

if you dont enought FOV, you can use 1-st method to correct it

to install this mod you also require DataXTractor
all soft you will found here: mafiascene.com or in google ;)

ps: all HUDs like speedometer or map are still stretched.
ps2: sorry for my bad english...

Think you could post comparison shots, one before using the tool and one afterwards?

I didn't use any tools, just a setup from a game with the latest patch (1.2). Everything looks the same as eZ posted but if you really want a screenshot, I'll do it.
