Read Full Detailed Report - ARMA: Armed Assault

Armed Assault is a military FPS from Bohemia Interactive and IDEA Games. Gameplay and technology is similar to Operation Flashpoint, which was also developed by Bohemia Interactive. The campaign takes place on a fictional Atlantic island, and follows a conflict between a communist regine and a democratic monarchy. You play as a US soldier in a squad, and must aid the local militia in fending off an offensive by the northern regime. Gameplay, like Operation Flashpoint, emphasizes realism, attention to detail, and very large maps (up to 250 square miles).

I'm not observing that behavior. Here's screenshots of my non-stretched rifle scope:

Can you post screenshots showing what you mean?

Try sniper rifles, and tank gunner Wink

Does the demo have any of that? If so, what's the easiest way to try?

btw, how can I capture screenshots?

I use FRAPS.

You can also use Alt+Print Scrn and paste into MS Paint, but FRAPS is a lot nicer.

Those don't really show me what I need to know. Can you post comparison screenshots?

Two screenshots from the same place, one at a 4:3 resolution with aspect ratio set to 4:3, and one at a 16:10 resolution with aspect ratio set to 16:10.

Just an fyi, they don't need to necessarily be from the same place. What you will see in the 4:3 shots is that the blacked out area around the screen will be circular instead of oval.

Actually, now that I say that, it would be nice to have the from the same spot so we could see if the oval reveals more than the circle, or if it just zooms in more. My money is on reveal more. It will grant a favorable advantage either way.
