In this new Commandos game, converted from real-time strategy to first person shooter with a tactical component, you'll play as a Green Beret for the fast action, as a Sniper for the tactical shooting and as the Spy for the stealth and sabotage bits. In some missions you could use two of them, changing from one to another in real time.

Post subject:  Solution: Commandos Strike Force [Edit] [Hor+ Vert+]

The game does support widescreen resolutions out of the box ...
BUT as mentioned by SmilingSage the FOV hack from the solutions page doesn't work as the JuegoPla.cfg ... with the retail version ... is in code ... :?

However ... I tried my JuegoPla.cfg with the adjusted FOV from the Demo and it works ... :D 8)

I have it set at 85 ... the default is 70 ... but you can edit it to your preference.

Here is a link if you want to use mine ... JuegoPla.cfg
Don't forget to BACKUP you original one ...

The HUD is stretched ... as is often the case.
With the FOV set to 85 as in my config you get a pretty good widescreen game.
The FOV change in my config not only increases the view width but also adds some view to the vertical.

So ... you get the correct width FOV ... paste the 4:3 over the top of the 16:10 ... you will see
But you get some extra height and so it looks stretched ... but it is actually squashed down to fit the height.
That said ... this game feels much much better for having the correct width FOV ... ie. not feeling zoomed with a restricted horizontal FOV.

These solutions are often about getting as close to a solution as we can so as to get the games to feel right ...
It is the best solution we have ... and IMHO better than what you get out of the box ...
