Hours aren't really the only measure to take into account. Beyond the type of game in relations to how long it takes to finish, you also have to consider what makes it that long. Example, Loki, nice game but artificially extended by having you do the entire game 3 times to get the 'real' ending. Man...

I have some eDimensional glasses as well. The effect is neat but more often then not lots of graphics just don't work well with it, especially any game that uses 2d elements for huds and etc mixed in with the 3d. I've read these eDimensional glasses work with some dlp projectors but I'm not trying i...

Could also be a en ex-oem that cut the deal short once it copied enough to make it itself.

Just saying, never hurts to be cautious but it can be devastating to trust blindly.

As much as a more flexible alternative to the th2g is needed, I hope they won't be stepping on matrox's patents on this kind of thing to achieve it. Too similar products usually end up badly.

Just an example to those whom it may interest: Windows XP pro. + 2x 768mb 8800's = ~3gb of ram Technically I should have about 2.464gb if I just substract it from 4gb. True it's been a while since I've been under xp32 so I may be off by a bit. I don't remember ever having less than 3gb though, regar...

As much as power supply are sometimes over-rated the parts themselves can also be said to use way more than they actually do. My rig for example is expected to 'require' a 1kw+ psu if you listen to nvidia. In practice it uses at most ~450w while at full load. And that's including the 2 gpus that are...

Universal Remotes are great ... in theory.

I have 2 of em. They're largely unused. Simple fact is, they can't replace the original remotes. Especially any that have very specific keys, which is most of em.

Maybe it was the lack of instructions in the demo vs the full game but all I remember is I couldn't get up a ledge no matter what I did. It just spun the camera around and I was stuck below. So I gave up and deleted the demo.

Like most games, some like it, some don't. I don't, I never even played the full game, I tried the demo and when I couldn't get to the end because the controls are total crap, I gave up.

Ok, so i've just attempted your suggestions. The first one didn't work cause i could not find the tab you mentioned in my dxdiag menu...

Don't have it either, I'm guessing it's no longer available in vista/w7 or just updated out of the most recent directx runtimes.

[quote]I'm currently seeing if the zotac mini-itx with pci-e 16x could be a way to make a decent gaming rig without the real-estate it's taking right now. I've thought about building it without changing cards but the problem I run into is the card length. IIRC, that PCI-E 16x slot is only 4x electr...

10. This late, Maxim-esque gaming magazine's final "truth" was that "two editors are gay and Gia is a man." Every cover of this magazine was a picture of a scantily clad female gaming character.

I'm gonna guess EGM / Electronic Gaming Monthly?

Softth works with SLI only as long as you have 3 cards. I played around with it a bit with 8800ultra in sli + a pci-e 1x 8400gs to get 3 monitors. As for getting rid of 8800 gtx sli, I'm considering it myself. So far it seems a 4890 or 285 would give me about the same performance as I get now, it wo...

I do believe that would be Al Lowe, creator of most of the Leisure Suit Larry games and one of the funniest ever: Freddy Pharkas, Frontier Pharmacist.

I've posted this before but again about nvidia custom resolutions:

- switch to a standard res. before making a custom res. (aka 1024x768)
- define custom res. as needed, and watch as a previous failed test now works.
