Since I guess the tutorial I made to make a patch using Delphi won't be used alot i've decided to make an Universal Patcher. It works simple if anyone else found the offsets. To find the offsets just follow my tutorial that can be found here:

http://widescreengamingforum.com/node/8483

Enter the 4 positions where the resolution is positioned in the executable and select your desired resolution and hit the "Patch" button.

Hope this helps... If this application would be used, i'll make a better one using a .ini file or something. Please gimme your input Wink

A link to download the UniPatcher:

Thanks!

Great work man, just plain great work.

One thing though, just making sure I understand your prog proper, it does the following:
Position 1 -> 2560
Position 2 -> 1600
Position 3 -> 2560
Position 4 -> 1600

correct?
and in case your interested I had done those for need for speed most wanted manually, the offsets are:
002C27EF 002C27F0 002C27F5 002C27F6

2nd set seems unneeded
002C28CF 002C28D0 002C28D5 002C28D6

both sets are in order 640 480 640 480, the second one doesn't seem to change much but I've had crashes when only changing the first one so I do both.

And I take no credit really finding the offsets, Uniwis did the 2 files I compared to find the change, but Uniwis stopped working so I had to go manual to make more.

Erm, no. The positions would be the one you mentioned:

Position 1: 002C27EF
Position 2: 002C27F0
Position 3: 002C27F5
Position 4: 002C27F6

I've made an example with the values in 2 posts above.

Yeah your example of it matches how I understood it. NFSMW is odd in that the 4 positions are in duplicate a couple lines later, that's the 2nd set of offsets. Which I change since I seem to get less crashes doing so.

One for 16Bit and one for 32Bit maybe?

Don't know, maybe, but there's no choice of 16-32 bit in the menus just the resolution. I'm thinking more 'screen res' vs 'viewport res' since some res. changers I've tried that use the dx9 dll hijack trick resized the overall resolution but the actual visible data was stuck in the top left corner at the original 640x480 res.

Just changing the first set of offset works though, I just seem to get random crashes if I don't change the 2nd set too so I do so as well.

No, it just change the resolution. To fix the FOV you need to find the camera values. Don't think you will get a "proper" FOV tho. You just set the camera more to the back.
