This is actually amazing news for me, because I have the A8-3850, and I was starting to get itchy for an update, but I thought this socket was dead and in the ground. Need to see if ASUS is going to update my motherboard to support this, and frankly, there need to be better boards for this socket, I don't think there's a damn one that has fast enough PCI-E x16 slots for the Crossfire I'm using. This really shows, because in a lot of games, performance is actually worse with CFX enabled. Which is pretty sad. Or maybe I'll just sell my two 6850s, save up a bit, buy a 7800 or 7900 series GPU and one of these babies.
Disregard all of this, AMD made a new socket for these. So I'm still screwed.
